Allegations of nursing home abuse and neglect, in Russell County, are being investigated by The Alabama State Health Department.

The daughter of a resident that lives at the Canterbury Health Facility nursing home, in Fort Mitchell, says her mother's care has declined and gotten worse over the past year.

The daughter also alleges her mother has fallen several times and suffered bruises all over her body due to being unsupervised.

"I had been complaining about the bruises all over her every time I went," she says, "and there's been a few times, I'd go and she's needed a change."

The State Health Department is currently investigating the allegations.
